The Maelstrom is the fifteenth level from LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game. It is the fifth and final level of At World's End.
Story[]
Elizabeth, Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa, Beckett, Davy Jones and Will Turner parley, exchanging Will for Jack. Barbossa frees Calypso, but when Will reveals Jones' betrayal, Calypso disappears and causes a maelstrom, refusing to help either party. The Pearl and the Dutchman fight in the maelstrom. Elizabeth and Will marry Barbossa in the middle of the battle. In the Dutchman, Jack and Jones fight for control of Jones' heart. After Jones mortally wounds Will, Jack helps Will stab the heart, killing Jones. Jack and Elizabeth escape from the Dutchman as it sinks into the maelstrom. When Beckett's ship, the Endeavour, confronts the Pearl, the Dutchman emerges from the sea, now captained by Will and his crew free of Jones' curse. The two pirate ships destroy the Endeavour, killing Beckett, as his navy retreats.
With Will forced to guide souls lost at sea to the next world, he and Elizabeth say goodbye. Will leaves with the Dutchman, leaving Elizabeth pregnant and with the chest containing his heart. Barbossa steals the Pearl again to find the Fountain of Youth, but discovers that Jack has stolen Feng's maps. Jack leaves Tortuga on a small boat to locate the fountain down.
In a post-credits scene, set ten years later, Elizabeth and her son, Henry, see Will return aboard the Dutchman.
Walkthrough[]
You start on the deck of the Pearl. The first thing you should do is throw some objects into the bucket in the middle of the deck to enlarge Tia Dalma. Go left and destroy the chests next to the mast. Take a trumpet and put it in the bucket. Use the spyglass on the side of the ship. Find a woman on the other ship and follow her for a moment. She will shoot you with a lifesaver. Put it in the bucket. Go behind the mast to which Tia Dalma is tied and destroy the boxes. Give Ragetti an umbrella and put the eye he gives you into the bucket. Switch to Will and go to the bridge. Throw the axe to the target on the mast. Go up and take the black diamond. It's in one of the mast sails. Put it in the bucket. Climb back up to the mast on the right and use the rope to go down. Set a cannon on fire with a torch and shoot. Jump up and put a sausage in the bucket. Thousands of white crabs will surround Tia Dalma. Grab a torch and jump into the lifeboat attached to the ship. Scare the tentacle and grab a croissant (don't get off the boat). Return to the deck using the net on the left and place the snack in the bucket. After placing all the items in the cube, Tia Dalma will explode and you will move on to the next area.
In the next area, a battle will occur in the maelstrom. Go left and watch the scene where lightning hits a mast and a cannon falls on the deck. Repair it using its pieces, grab a torch and shoot. You must attack the ship's weak point - the yellow areas. Then, go right and turn the helm near the mast (three times). Another cannon will fall - repair it using its pieces and shoot at the yellow areas of the ship on the right. Repair the bricks between the two cannons and turn the helm you will create. A new cannon will appear. Shoot the last weak point and you will rescue Jack Sparrow, taking you to the final area of the level.
In the final area of the level, fight Bootstrap Bill Turner, who is haunted. When you take away all four of his hearts, rebuild him and that way you will unspell him and he will be your companion. Switch to him and go through the seaweed on the deck. Go right and take the lamp. With the lamp, go to the right, to the lower floor, and chase away the purple tentacles holding a chest. Move the chest to the mast. A Jack's hook will help you climb to the upper mast (stand on the chest to grab it). Jump from the nest to the boards on the left and fight Davy Jones. When Jones jumps, chase him down and hit him. Eventually he will escape among the algae. Chase him like Bill and while you're on the other side take another heart from him. Jones will escape to the right. Chase him like Jack. Use a hook to scare the opponent from the top of the ship. Jump down and hit him. When he escapes, climb the rope. Fight him on the mast. In the last heart, Jones will run to the left on the tallest mast. Jump on the rope made from the boards on the left and climb up. Hit him one last time to finish the level.
Collectables[]
S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.
- Minikit Bottles
- (S) In the first area of the level, look through the spyglass a second time and look for the Tattoo Pirate to throw this minikit at you.
- (F) Five silver barrels are hidden in this level. Destroy them using an explosive character to get this minikit.
- The first one is on the right side of the ship from the first area.
- You will find the second one during the storm. This barrel is located on the right side of the area.
- The third one is found in the second area. This barrel is located on the left side of the area, in a location that can only be reached by ghost pirates like Bill.
- The fourth one is at the bottom of the final area of the level.
- The fifth and last one is on the right side of the final area of the level. To get there, use a Jack's hook to the right of the starting point and jump down from the right mast to reach this barrel.
- (F) On the right side of the ship, use Syrena's scream to destroy the glass bricks and get this minikit.
- (F) On the right side of the ship, use Blackbeard's power to set the lamps on fire and destroy them to reveal this minikit.
- (F) Five oysters are hidden in this level. Destroy them to get this minikit.
- The first one is in the first area of the level, on the far right.
- The second is again on the right, but this time in the second area of the level.
- The third one is in the second area, in a place where only ghost pirates like Bill can reach.
- The fourth one is in the final area of the level, in a place that only ghost pirates like Bill can reach.
- The fifth and last one is located at the bottom of the final area of the level.
- (F) In the second area, after dealing with the cannon near the helm, use the helm again. Take out the chest. Open it as a super strength character (like Blackbeard) to find this minikit.
- (F) Right in the place where you got the previous minikit, go to the right side of the ship and use Blackbeard's power to destroy a red chest and find this minikit.
- (F) You must carry an apple from the right mast (which can be reached using a Jack's hook) to the Dutchman Pirate on the left side of the ship. You will reach said pirate through the seaweed (any pirate ghost can go through it, like Bill). When you are near him, make sure to grab an apple and give it to him so he can give you this minikit.
- (S) Use the cannon on the right to shoot the cage hanging on the other side of the ship. The ducks will fall - destroy them using different cannons to reveal this minikit.
- (F) On the left side of the final area of the level, use Blackbeard to destroy the red items. Then destroy the silver object as an explosive character. Use Syrena's scream on a Kraken mechanism, repair it using the pieces of the silver object and turn it so that the Kraken gives you this minikit.

- (S) Mistress Ching throws this item at you when you look at her through a spyglass in the first area. Put it in the bucket so the game counts it as discovered. (It is necessary to complete the level.)
- Sausage
- (S) In the first area of the level, destroy the silver barrels using a torch-lit cannon to reveal this item. Put it in the bucket so the game counts it as discovered. (It is necessary to complete the level.)
- Black Diamond
- (S) This item is located on the right mast in the first area of the level. Put it in the bucket so the game counts it as discovered. (It is necessary to complete the level.)
- Wooden Eye
- (S) Ragetti gives you this item when you give him an umbrella in the first area of the level. Put it in the bucket so the game counts it as discovered. (It is necessary to complete the level.)
- Croissant
- (S) In the first area of the level, jump onto a boat and make sure you bring a torch to scare away the tentacle holding this item. Put it in the bucket so the game counts it as discovered. (It is necessary to complete the level.)
- Apple
- (F) When you grab an apple from the right mast in the second area (which can only be reached using a Jack's hook), go to the left side, use a Ghost Pirate to get through some seaweed, and give the apple to the Dutchman Pirate for the game to count this item as discovered.

- (S) Near the starting point of the final area of the level, use Jack's compass to find this item.

- In the final scene of the level, the fourth wall is broken when Bill extracts a normal heart from his son in the HUD and then places it in the Dead Man's chest.
- Additionally, in that same scene, Jack the Monkey can be seen as a playable character, although he cannot be played in the game.
- This is the only level in LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game where the ending cutscene ends up turning white instead of black before the Status Screen plays.
