Rule Change Discussion
Back when there was only five games, our character system would have been easy. We could just have the Free Play characters from LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and LEGO Batman: The Videogame. Then LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues came and there were a few characters with redesigns, but that was no problem since the Beach Trooper was redesigned in the Complete Saga. But then LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars came out and we got some redesigned characters, but Obi-Wan Kenobi had a problem. Both the Padawan and the Clone Wars General were just labeled Obi-Wan Kenobi. I resolved that problem by tagging every returning character "Clone Wars", because since Star Wars The Clone Wars was animated and the movies were live-action, it was expected that everyone would look different. Then with LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, things started getting really confusing. The Hogwarts student uniforms has changed and Ron and Hermione got new hairstyles. Yet, they had some returning outfits. Yeah, that is confusing. And some Batman characters in LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes had redesigns and when I found out that the handheld version had the old versions as "(Classic)" varients, I decided to rename the old versions with "(Classic)". LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham came and I saw the redesigns as New 52 versions. Eventually I was so confused about all this that I made namespaces for each game. But then I missed the old style and switched it back and moved the new style to a separate site. Recently, I've tried a new system where the game characters are separate and each character gets a general story page. But it failed because I couldn't decide on what to call the main pages of each character. Should I use their birth names? Should I use the game names? Well, what are your thoughts?
